Position Summary

The Site Superintendent is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the work of subcontractors and in-house teams. He/she is responsible for consistently performing quality control of projects and reviewing the performance of all trades to ensure it is of the utmost quality and meets the high expectations of Janiczek Homes and its customers.

Responsibilities

·       Coordinates field activities of subcontractors, carpenters, vendors and laborers

·       Interprets plans and specifications to prepare proper building schedule and field installation

·       Assists the Estimator with cost estimates for materials and subcontractor bids

·       Oversees and reviews subcontractors as to performance and quality of construction, and takes necessary steps to maintain both quality and adherence to schedule and safety

·       Performs quality control tasks to ensure the work is being installed according to plan, including the daily and weekly inspection of completed work

·       Ensures building materials are delivered timely. Arranges to have miscellaneous construction material unloaded and protected.

·       Coordinates repairs of equipment or machinery.

·       Assists with cost estimates for materials and subcontractors’ bids on all projects.

·       Confers with management, jobsite subcontractors, vendors, clients, architects to coordinate activities or resolve problems.

·       Reports updates to the Project Manager and communicates any challenges or issues on a timely basis

·       Coordinates with the building inspector for necessary permits and inspections.

·       Secures and locks up job sites for protection.

·       Trains workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, or company policies.

·       Assigns work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.

·       Keeps accurate records through daily logs, schedules and photos on BuilderTrend.

·       Performs all tasks and duties in an efficient and safe manner.

·       Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.

·       Represents Company in a manner that conveys professionalism, confidentiality, courtesy, fairness, personal integrity, and respect for others.

Job Requirements

·       Minimum of seven years of experience in the construction industry with at least three years in high-end custom residential construction in a leadership role

·       Experience in rough and finish carpentry

·       Strong knowledge of building and construction processes

·       Strong ability to read and interpret architectural plans

·       Effective and proven leadership skills

·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·       Ability to work collaboratively with project managers and site subcontractors

·       Ability to analyze, adapt and create resolutions to problematic situations

·       Strong organization, planning, and prioritization skills

·       Strong analytical and decision-making skills

·       Strong attention to detail

·       Experience and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook

·       Knowledge and proficiency in project management software (Builder Trend) is a plus!

·       Valid driver’s license

Salary – $75,000 - $90,000 per year

Schedule – Monday - Friday

Work Location — Jobsites located throughout the Philadelphia area, specifically the Main Line, Chester, Montgomery, Delaware, and Bucks County. A valid Driver’s License is required for this position.
