Chester County Renovation

Chester County Renovation - Terrace

Location: Chester County, PA

Architect: Period Architecture

Project Type: Addition and Renovation

Project Description

In our efforts to modernize this charming Chester County home, we undertook several key renovations. We expanded the kitchen, revamped the library, and introduced spacious outdoor living areas to fully capitalize on the property's expansive view. A striking two-story porch with a pergola and a covered veranda now extends from the master suite, offering an outdoor space that retains an intimate atmosphere for the homeowners. Below, the veranda seamlessly flows into an expansive flagstone patio, anchored by a grand, rounded fire pit that overlooks a lush valley.

Inside, the library strikes an impressive balance: featuring rich, dark walnut paneling, corbeled beams, and stained oak floors that imbue the space with a sense of grandeur. At the same time, comfortable seating and a built-in dry bar overlooking the patio create a welcoming and conversational ambiance.

In contrast, the kitchen boasts an overall palette that is both crisp and bright. A generously sized Calacatta marble island takes center stage, surrounded by light-hued cabinets and open wine storage to match. To add depth, the lower portion of the kitchen island and the floors feature warm, medium brown wood. The result is an open and communal space—a haven for home chefs and a gathering spot for family conversations.
