Located in the South Wayne neighborhood of Wayne, Pennsylvania, this whole-home renovation and addition reflects a careful balance between preservation and modernization. Janiczek Homes transformed the residence to better support today's living while maintaining the architectural character that has long defined one of the Main Line's most established neighborhoods.

Rather than reinventing the home, the renovation focused on strengthening what already existed. Exterior improvements, including standing seam roofing details, copper gutters, custom shutters, and carefully considered architectural accents, were designed to complement the original structure while introducing a refined, updated appearance. Every addition was approached with the goal of feeling intentional.

Inside, the home was reconfigured to improve how the family lives without sacrificing warmth or character. Restored hardwood flooring, custom millwork, and thoughtfully selected materials establish continuity throughout the home, while a restrained palette allows architectural details to take precedence over decorative trends.

The kitchen became the center of the renovation, combining custom cabinetry, Carrara marble, rough-sawn wood shelving, and carefully integrated storage into a space designed for everyday family life and entertaining. Rather than relying on statement finishes alone, the design emphasizes proportion, craftsmanship, and functionality that will remain relevant for years to come.

The primary bathroom continues that approach through custom cabinetry, natural stone, mixed-metal fixtures, and a freestanding soaking tub. Throughout the home, every renovation decision was made with the same objective: improve the way the home functions while respecting the character that made it worth preserving.
